Long lasting and versatileThese are a great option for lower-offs. Buy a dozen, equip the chains on your 6 favorite climbs with a pair, and encourage your friends to do the same. Together, we can stop the abomination of rappelling from sport climbs once and for all.
The opening above the pin is much larger than what you get from Camp, and accepts chain up to 1/2" (much fatter than anything you're likely to encounter in the wild). The wire gates springs are on the stiff side but still pretty easy to clip even after a few years of weathering.
Practice installing these somewhere where you won't drop the pin or the set screw. Store your pins, set screws, and allen wrenches in a little prescription pill bottle so you don't lose them.Posted on
